I saw it as women experience assault at such high levels, that they feel unsafe around strangers.

Whereas, men see it as an exciting opportunity, full of possibilities. Not necessarily that they intend to commit assault.

In college, I saw a sign that said something like 1 in 6 women will be sexually assaulted. Based on conversations with women around me and my own experiences, I’m pretty sure it’s actually 6 in 6 women.

Before you get upset, yes, I am aware men get assaulted too. That’s not okay either.

My ex’s kid had exactly the same thing happen to him. It started on Roblox then moved to Discord.

Roblox is basically a glorified chat room app with micro transactions that is advertised as a game. Over half the user base is under the age of 16, so it’s a prime target for predators. Parents don’t understand it. Either they think it’s like Minecraft or they find it annoying so they ignore what kids are actually doing there.

I personally discourage parents around me when it comes to Roblox because after talking to the kid in our situation, I felt like Roblox had a severe problem.

That said every situation is different. Responsible parents who actively monitor that stuff or kids that are more mature might be okay. And, that was almost ten years ago (2016/2017). It’s possible Roblox is trying harder. I don’t know.

I was a kid in AOL and Yahoo chatrooms in the late 90s/early 00s. The internet was new and my parents didn’t understand it then either. I remember predators frequently messaging me then and this feels like exactly the same thing.

I know it’s tough. You don’t want to deprive your kid of socializing with their peers, but you want to protect them and I don’t think there is single right answer to Roblox.

I grew up playing games with my dad. I wouldn’t change a thing. I miss it dearly.

Roblox is a game I would never let my kids play. My ex’s kid met predators on it when he was 9 or 10. During his middle school and early high school years, he chatted with predators on Discord.

When I reported it to Discord, they made me go through and flag all of the specific explicit images and messages that were sent before they would take action.

I noticed yesterday and it’s also affecting other sites where Google serves ads, like Reddit.

I suspect it’s probably they are all morons who they think are gods gift to humanity.

I also have a feeling that wrecking the economy is an intentional play to get the fed to lower interest rates so rich people can get loans that are basically free against their assets (like stocks) to avoid capital gains taxes.

The lack of pensions and low pay are the reason people switch jobs though

I think the problem is that for a long time Tesla, and specifically Elon, went around telling everyone how great their autopilot was. Turns out that was all exaggeration and sometimes flat out lying.

They showed videos of the car driving on its own. Later, we found out it was actually being controlled remotely.

Nope! The only laws that really apply to those are which breaks are paid and which are not. If you are given any breaks, 20 minutes or less must be paid and count towards OT. Anything over can be off the clock.
