The worst part of Big Bang Theory is how bad it makes you feel when people you know recommend it to you.
“What kind of person do you think I am, exactly? And who do you think this show is for?”

51·2 days agoEssential and non-essential are almost meaningless distinctions for most goods people use on a daily basis. I could LIVE on beans and water. Do I NEED toothpaste? Aspirin? How much am I allowed to enjoy something before it’s a non-essential good?
People paid more for something because they were forced to, and it wasn’t for any economically necessary reason, and the cause was illegal, making it tantamount to theft, and refunds to companies equivalent to receiving stolen goods.
Nitpicking the necessity of the good is a cheap excuse to do nothing, not a gotcha.

It’s the ONLY legitimate way to handle it.

19·3 days agoThat’s okay.
It’s not a real company, either.
“More of us than them” is a gross oversimplification of our unity.
Take here on Lemmy, for example… Lemmy’s users are almost exclusively broadly all on the “destroying the planet is bad” and “corporations are causing many problems” side, but aside from that it’s a constant, unending cesspit of purity tests and infighting.
The fact is, there’s no mass of people unified on riots because there are 8 billion of us, and we can’t even get a few million to stop using social media brainwashing tools that actively give them depression.
The billionaires are the DRIVERS of our destruction, but people are walking themselves right into it of their own free will.

4·4 days agoYour mistake was assuming the world ending meant everyone would die.
What it really meant was the ending of your ability to control your own destiny, and we are in fact in the latter stages of the closing of that noose, no matter how much the “we’ll just grow a community garden in our commune” people like to delude themselves that the system will let them go.
“They’re literally exactly the same.”
