Oh you don’t want me bringing the Catholics into this, wait until you hear what they’ve done.
How much did they take in? Mega churches convince people to tithe large percentages of their income.
Joel Osteen encourages tithing 10% of income, framing it as a way to trigger divine blessings, favor, and prosperity for the giver and future generations.
His church alone takes in tens of millions in annual revenue and only donates about 1%

1·29 days agoWe don’t have any expectation of privacy in the US. You can place cameras anywhere you like on your property and can film anything in public.
Unfortunately we have to make our own privacy here (by closing the shades, etc.)

271·1 month agoI enjoy having cameras on my house to see what’s going on in the neighborhood. It has come in handy at least once when my neighbor’s truck was stolen in broad daylight.
They are ring cameras because two were installed already when I moved in. What should I switch to? I just really want motion alerts and proof when something bad happens.

521·1 month agoIt almost seems like they want to make home computing unaffordable, so you have to rent PC time from a cloud provider. This way they nickel and dime you, and use your data to train their LLMs.
Micron and nvidia get their cut by being able to set whatever prices they can imagine.

10·1 month agoThe quiet part is what they plan to do with your data. Spoiler: nothing good.
I like thin crust with provel but I usually only have it at bowling alleys, bars, and other high class establishments. Imos is overpriced and can be meh nowadays. At the end of the day it is just local chain pizza.
Most of the actual pizza joints in St Louis have New York style hand tossed crust with mozzarella (and good beer.)

58·1 month agoI’ve always wondered in those gray, dystopian movies with smog filled skies, smoke stacks, military forces, and people behind fences: how could they let it get that far?
I never even considered how quickly it could happen.

182·1 month agoThe boomers are aging and lead poisoned. Education system is spotty. Poor areas have less tax revenue, leading to worse schools, and that creates a cycle.
People are addicted to social media and it’s literally rotting their brains. 15 second video clips with the same background audio playing in a loop.
I think it is a lot of things happening concurrently.

The truth is out there.
