The world's biggest all electric ferry - being built in Australia - will conduct its first ocean trials next month before being shipped to South America atop another vessel at the end of this year.
On the Sydney waterway, the River class and Parramatta River class currently run on Scania diesel motors. However, they’ve been designed specifically with retrofitting battery-electric systems. I am very hopeful that as the motors reach the end of their service life in the next couple of years that they make the leap to electric.
This is such fantastic news!

The ferry will go to the Rio de la Plata to connect Argentina and Uruguay.
