I just finished the latest series of taskmaster and I’m watching bakeoff and Ludwig. Also just finished avatar seven havens and I’m watching apothecary diaries newest season. I’m very weird, also not British.
I just finished Widow’s Bay and need to find a new show. WB had some cool moments and I laughed at least once an episode, but the pacing was painfully slow. At some point I felt trapped, like I’m 3-4 episodes in so I’m kinda committed to seeing how it ends but I’m not really enjoing it. It started to feel like a job. I was kinda mad at the friend who recommended it. The ending was kinda cool though.
I am watching TNG but want to reccomend “anything other than a screen”
Probably gonna watch crystal lake, the Jason Vorhees show. That, or Carrie. Undecided at this point
Carrie was solid. I feel like Flanagan is building a new Stephen King universe. I recommend watching doctor sleep movie to accompany it. Crystal lake was decent fan service to the original 80s films. Idk that it was on as high a level as Carrie but I’d watch Linda cardellini in pretty much anything.
The Carrie show was very enjoyable
I am watching Picard. 2/3 through season 1 and I can’t recommend it.
I also watched Excalibur(1981) and it’s a beautiful film with terrible dialogue, in fact the audio as a whole was pretty bad. The low budget meant unknown actors (at the time) but a bunch of them blew the fuck up: Gabriel Byrne, Liam Neeson, Helen Mirren, Patrick Stewart, and Ciarán Hinds.
I finally finished Shrinking. I loved it so much. Sad to see it go but it had a definitive ending and that’s something a lot of my favorite series never got.
Re Picard. If you’re not enjoying it just watch season three.
Season one feels like they had an idea for a reboot, but once they actually wrote it… It turns out it wasn’t that interesting of an idea, at least not for a whole season.
Season two is a wild fever dream that isn’t anything like Star Trek. Someone wrote a different show, honestly not that bad of a show, and then just tossed in Star Trek characters. Like a bad Star Trek fanfic, but also weirdly good at times.
Season three is your classic, we’re getting the band back together. It probably doesn’t need to be a whole season, a movie would have been fine, but it’s still a fun “one last time” season.
I agree with this. Season 1 and 2 were barely watchable for me. But I did enjoy Season 3.

Never watched Picard, but that’s how I felt about Foundation. It wasn’t that it was a bad show, but it didn’t feel anything like Foundation and I couldn’t get into it.
I’ve only ever seen Foundation the show, but the Foundation part of the show is bad. It has its moments occasionally, but it’s just bad.
But the Empire part of the show? That’s amazing! Rename the show “The Empire, from the Foundation universe” and just focus on The Empire.
The Empire part is basically non-existent in the first book, they changed a lot of what was there, and the whole clone thing is totally new. It would’ve been cool as its own IP, since it basically is anyway, but it’s not Foundation.
And the Foundation parts were heavily changed. The whole format was changed, the story is supposed to take place over generations, navigating crises every 50 years or so, following new characters each time. I had to stop watching because it was basically unrecognizable and completely spat in the face of the themes of the book.
If Shrinking is the Apple TV show, that’s been renewed for a Season 4.
Uh oh
Go out and find ‘Black Sails.’
Sex, pirates, sex, betrayal, sex, sea battles, sex, and some sex.
Great acting, fantastic action scenes, twisty scripts, and beautiful photography.
Finished Legion. Was not a fan, especially of the 3rd season. The Loudermilks were fascinating though, I would have watched a whole show based around them and the Birds. Have to say, never expected this show to feature a redeemed/heroic (?) Shadow King (this seems to be the only point of the show). Crazy that the other X-Men show of the same time, The Gifted, decided to have the incest Nazi twins become heroes too.
Also finished my rewatch of Dollhouse. I was surprised to learn that I feel almost exactly the same way as before. The last episodes are rushed (the early episodes also have their problems), and I hate everything about the 2020 setting. But it’s still a pretty great show with some interesting concepts. The main thing I found on this rewatch was that I think you could cut Paul. After the first season, he doesn’t really add anything. The romance isn’t even half-baked because it never really gets there in the first place.
I remember thinking the rushed feeling of season 2 was good compared to season 1’s mission of the week style
Season 3 of The Expanse, my youngest is old enough and sophisticated enough to enjoy it. Just watched the “I am that guy” episode so he is really starting to appreciate Amos. It’s either my 4th or 5th watch. Meeting Peaches next episode, and next season it’s time for Murtry, which will be great fun to watch with him.
Scrubs, and Scrubs.
My favorite show of all time and I’m actually really pleased with the new series. This season has been especially good
Nobody cares, Sean.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
I want to be watching the next Stargate series , but we are back to not knowing if or when that will actually happen. Sg1 and Atlantis are always a good watch.
Been slowly working on a Fringe re-watch. Great show.
currently completely addicted from my rewatch of Six Feet Under with my SO (first time for them). this is just too great a series
How do you feel like it’s aged?
It still is absolutely great! Definitely a 2000s nostalgia piece, though
Currently about halfway through The Boroughs. Basically Stranger Things season 1 but with old people instead of kids. It’s pretty good, and I like the acting. I’m hopeful that it works out better than Stranger Things and sticks to a single season, but we’ll see.
