I’d argue that the average defines what out of shape means but I suppose you could instead use the standard of our nomadic ancestors, in which case we’re all a bunch of grain fed tubbies

  Well there’s someone who is in shape, as in good shape, then there’s everyone else. Your average person isn’t in shape, so they’re out of shape.
