Sounds familiarā¦
The New York Times expressed astonishment that Hugenberg, an āarch-capitalistā who stood āin strongest discord with economic doctrines of the Nazi movement,ā was suddenly in charge of the countryās finances. Hitlerās āsocialist maskā had fallen, the Communist daily Red Banner proclaimed, arguing that āHugenberg is in charge, not Hitler!ā The weekly journal Die WeltbĆ¼hne dubbed the new government āHitler, Hugenberg & Co.ā
As self-proclaimed āeconomic dictator,ā Hugenberg kept pace with Hitler in outraging political opponents and much of the public. He purged ministries. He dismantled workersā rights. He lowered the wages of his own employees by 10 percent.
Hugenberg didnāt care about bad press. He was accustomed to being one of the most unpopular personalities in the country.
Holy shit, that was like reading a piece about the current US political climate.
we been warning about this for 10 years. the trump-hitler comps were not hyperbolic, no matter how many times you read it was fear mongering. we here in a really bad, really dangerous situation. the world needs to be ready for the things to come because things are about to get grim.
Iirc one of his wives reported him having a copy of Hitlerās speeches on his nightstand.
Found an article:
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/27/us/politics/trump-fascism.html
Mr. Trump has long expressed interest in the most notorious dictator of the past century, Adolf Hitler, whose Nazis also used that phrase. In a 1990 interview, Mr. Trump said he had a copy of Hitlerās āMein Kampf,ā although his first wife Ivana Trump and the friend who gave him the book said it was actually āMy New Order,ā a collection of Hitler speeches.
As one Hitler associate explained the Hitler-Hugenberg dynamic: āHugenberg had everything but the masses; Hitler had everything but the money.ā
Sounds eerily familiar no?
The scariest part of this article is how nonchalant business seemed to be about the new regime. āPfizer now in forced clinical trials to cure blindness through new injection ā āWe expect to see our first survivor of the procedure any day nowāā
Also the way all the formerly āanti-Naziā businesses just suddenly switched when it was clear where the money lay, and ended up building concentration camps and supplying the poison gas for them, all for profit. Capitalists have a sickness and nothing will stop them from pursuing more money, not even the prospect of helping murder millions of their fellow citizens.
Funny that the article doesnāt cover what happened to Ferdinand Porsche. Not a lot of consequences there.
So if Elon is Hugenberg when will he regret having supported Trump?
It should be noted that Hugenberg didnāt ever suffer any real consequences for what he did.
One of those articles that conservatives everywhere should read. Alas, theyāre too stupid and cowardly to self-reflect enough to admit wrong-doing. Now that the department of education is gone, soon theyāll just be too stupid to read.
