Yor is such a weird character.

    • In professional mode: highly competent, carries out a mission with no backup, spontaneous genius in combat.
    • In day to day mode: complete ditz, subservient to anyone who talks to her, barely understands the world around her. No it’s not an act.

I mentally check-out in these instances. She never questions what her husband does? The Mr&Mrs Smith mind games you might expect from the show, just… aren’t there.

The message is literally just “hi we’re unconventional, but we’re a team, and also dad is the boss and mom is pretty – root for us for some reason. Oh and the west is objectively better in every way, we won’t even pretend to make a comparison”. It’s a pretty insulting show.

I’ve heard the theory, that Spy X Family was specificaly created to promote having kids and to stop the demographic crisis in Japan

I’ve heard the author feels unfulfilled by Spy X Family because it isn’t a story he actually wanted to tell but instead one he thought would be popular (which is understandable given how quickly unpopular mangas can be cancelled). It’s been very successful which is great for them but it also has to sting a little knowing how some of his peers have reached similar success with very weird and personal stories like Chainsaw Man and Dandadan.

I think the urge hits some pretty hard. Sometimes I’m wondering why I’m doing everything i do then I picture myself relaxing watching over my family and I feel reassured im doing the right thing.

Its not a graphic urge like the anon described.
