I really hope at least one of these pokemon stays quadrupedal. Basically every single starter has turned bipedal since, what, Samurott back in gen 5? Ignoring Primarina because no legs.
Also the bird looks reeeeeally dumb, which is disappointing as someone who usually likes the grass types.
Oh right, I completely forgot about Skeledirge becoming a quadruped. I stand corrected then, we did get one quadruped starter in the last 15 years.
Sadly the bipeds are much more popular and make more money for whatever fuckall reason
Bipeds can distinctly kick, punch, and also hold things into those punchers like merch and brand deals.
Bipeds are the ideal form for human propaganda.

Fire gang for life. I love that little flooferpup, and I’m excited to see what kind of bipedal, fire/fighting, rule34-bait dogman it evolves into.
I know it’s probably an artistic choice or maybe a lack of budget thing, but I find it weird how textureless these guys are. You don’t have to make them realistic or anything, but let the dog look like it has fur beyond the little anime spikes at the tips. Let the bird look like it has feathers. Right now he looks kind of like if a bird put a green bedsheet over his head to be a ghost for Halloween.
I wish they would bring back pixels.
I’d also be cool with a game in a 2D/3D style like Beastars, if they’re able to do something like that.
Cassette Beasts. Really loved that game, and is in that style.
Lil shout-out to pokerogue at this: it is a gen 4 style (i think) fan project that has all the current mons minus the newer mega evolutions in pixel art with up to 3 different shiny variants per mon even. The gameplay loop is very simple with battle/event -> pick reward -> repeat but it’s still very fun
there are so many awesome fan games out there :)
