FedNow became a thing just two years ago. With transaction fees of just $0.043/transaction, it’s cheaper than every other payment processor out there. Hopefully it can gain adoption and push out Visa/Mastercard.

Are data centers not paying their bills?
They are. The state has failed to ensure there is adequate supply to keep prices flat.
Pretty much the same. Though I have rarely been more than the 2nd person in line at an Aldi. That one dude keeps pace!
Then after that the employee can slowly scan my items and pack them with cold stuff across all bags and fragile stuff under heavy stuff.
The key to getting in and out quick is to have them scan it and you bag it. Even if they start bagging it for you, “I got the bags” places things in bags.
Also Aldi, Aldi gets you in and out and they know how to pack a cart so things don’t get squished. I believe it’s because they actually pay their people and train them to get the line moving.
Edit: Another time-save: you can pay for your groceries by card before they are finished ringing them up.
Unfortunately so is Visual Studio and VS Code, yet we don’t say anything made with them is ‘vibe coded’. The text, big and bold, right the top of the screen for VS Code is literally:
Visual Studio and VS Code have an AI assistant as well, yet we don’t decree all programs written with them as ‘vibe coding’. The presence of an AI assistant in the IDE isn’t evidence of vibe coding.
Proton’s repo here is open source. What portion of it presents issues? Any?
Yet no other game requires secure boot and plenty of them don’t require kernel level access either. Many of those games have no such cheating problem.
It’s a cop-out because they aren’t good at their jobs and instead want to gobble up more and more access to your computer instead.
Root kernel access isn’t enough for them? Jesus fuck are they greedy.
That seems perfectly fine to me.
If you are on newly released hardware and the other guy’s suggestions don’t work, Fedora might also work for you. As it has a faster software release cadence and the bug fix might be living in one of those newer versions.
If you measure it in minutes, it would be pretty easy. And measuring in miles also is pretty straightforward. Break out the measuring tool on your map of choice and write down how long your standard route is, any deviations you can guestimate quickly.
An interesting fact: English-language adoption of Linux on Steam is over 2x the overall, all-language adoption. This mostly cuts out Chinese (25% of users), Russian (8% of users), and Spanish (5% of users). Seems America and Europe is adopting at record pace while China isn’t.
Just avoid the games that use them.
Agreed. I have no desire to give EA root access to my system, full access to everything I do on it … just to play a game.
I’m amazed Microsoft even allows such on their platform, given how large of a vulnerability it creates; as CrowdStrike demonstrated.
The zoo said it accepts donated rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., but no more than four at a time. It also accepts horses for feeding its animals, which it says on its website are euthanized by a zookeeper and a veterinarian.
Gotta eat. Hell, humans eat half those animals too.
How dare old people be concerned about the environment! Make fun of them!
From what I can tell, Windows SE is the education version of Windows S-mode, which always sucked. Had a few run-ins with it on family computers and it was always a giant pain in the ass just to get basic programs running.
I’ve been meaning to get rid of Google Authenticator. Think I’m gunna go do that today. :)
If it makes you feel better, thunderf00t just came out with a new video. :)
I haven’t watched it yet, but it’s on my short list!
Maybe some finance, home repair, defense economics.
Quite a few states actually have systems like this. In which individuals can choose their power generator at will. It is nice as it increases competition and lets you tailor energy use to your wants.
If you want 100% green, switch to a generator that does that. If your default utility gets too expensive, switch to a cheaper one, etc.
