Some grocery stores only give a staff discount on certain days of the week. But the five-finger discount works every day

172·3 months agoI respect that it’s a populat format, but as soon as a game has both PvE and PvP the game is just PvP in my opinion.
I don’t like most PvP games, so seeing both tags scares me off of most titles.
Sometimes you’ll see a game like that where you can disable PvP, or host a private lobby, or some other compromise. Most of the time doing so reveals just how shallow the PvE content really is

You take a four panel comic, have one line stand up, two panels with two lines standing up, and one panel with two lines perpendicular to each other. Congratulations! It’s a joke about miscarriage

But I guess in the context of the comic it doesn’t really matter, only that the kid isn’t getting stitches because he ain’t no snitch

3·3 months agoIt gets really good in season 8. You have to watch the first seven seasons though, or else you won’t appreciate a handful of references that are essentially cameos which contribute nothing to the plot.
It falls off a cliff in season 9 though
That’s okay, just don’t let it happen again

912·4 months agoIt does though, Maslow’s just being a dick
If you have no curtains, then it’s covered by Tier 2: Safety. Your nest isn’t secure if anybody can just look into it.
If you have curtains but don’t like them, it’s covered by Tier 4: Esteem. If you don’t like your curtains and they make you feel bad, it affects your self worth. Doubly so if you’re concerned your neighbours might think they’re shabby and judge you for it (this is another issue to unpack in therapy)
Also, although the pyramid is a popular way to express it, Maslow himself never used a pyramid to describe the hierarchy.
Now that I’ve ruined it by over-explaining: It was a funny comic, I laughed.

15·4 months agoMy interpretation is that everyone has a void inside them and that seeking external validation is fruitless. The path to happiness is instead radical self acceptance
Nobody actually looks unhappy in this comic, but everyone’s attempt to fill the void still leaves them with a void

1·4 months agoIn the US healthcare system, sometimes you’ll end up seeing a doctor that isn’t in your insurance network. You have no way of knowing this until after you’ve seen the doctor, usually in an emergency or because they’re a specialist. Then because they’re not covered by your insurance, you get a surprise massive bill.
The insurance is Netflix’s subscription, the specialist is the unsigned actor, and the bill is the bill.
