  • As a retail manager it was business as usual, except an extra amount of Trump supporters being extra vocal about why they came out to ‘stick it to the libs’. We actually did more business that day than we did the prior year.

A one day event isn’t a boycott of you just give the same people the money the next day. If you want to make a difference, you have to make bigger waves. Stop shopping at Walmart forever. Don’t buy another Nestle product. Cancel your Amazon prime and start buying local.

  • This is how they lose.

If you had a party actually for the people, you would get a lot of the Trump votes as well. Most of MAGA weren’t about racist bullshit or half of what’s happened since the changeover.

They are tired of the corporate and government corruption and Trump promised (lied) to do something about that. We need to offer the same hope without all the hate. We need to offer change without just saying the other side is evil. It isn’t the ‘other side’ that is the problem. It’s the corrupt people in positions of power and the ones that tell you to blame the ‘other side’.

  • Nope. Not how that works. He did the salute. He went and showed his support for neo-nazis. If it quacks like a duck …

I’m actually a Cascadian hippie if you’d like to assign labels. Hell, I will even let you call me antifa. But not supporting Nazis doesn’t make me a Nazi.

I don’t hate on people with different views. I live in a very conservative area. Most of the people I talk to on a day to day basis are still wearing their MAGA hats. I’m actually not a fan of the democratic party. But at the same time I’m not dumb enough to fall in line with the new fascist agenda. There’s a huge difference between taking steps forward and burning down the system for personal profit.

Trump is an idiot with a personal agenda. Elon is a Nazi. And the people who don’t see this are mostly poorly informed. I don’t hate them for that.

But looking at your comments, it appears YOU are the one hating on everything different. Or you’re just trolling, which would make you an idiot or a child, neither of which are worth having a discussion with.

  • It’s not. But it’s harder the longer you wait. We’ve stopped teaching children because skills like this don’t fit into check boxes that can be marked off. It’s far easier just to train them to memorize test answers. We don’t TEACH anymore (likely because we don’t pay people to). It’s hard work, and the students outnumber the instructors so it’s no surprise we’re struggling. Parents don’t continue the education at home and expect the system to do all the work because they are wasting all of their energy at work.

It’s going to take generations and decades to fix this and we won’t see the results in our lifetime. But we need to start doing things differently if we want things to be better for our descendants. We need to reform education AND create an environment where you don’t need both adults to work 40+ hours a week to support the family.
