  • Yes, the plan would have that compensation included somehow, to the workers who earn it or to the universal healthcare plan. This and a revenue system to fund it like successful places, benefits most people in cost and health. No more bankruptcies, like people still have with insurance. If the owners skip out on paying this worker compensation in the changeover, people are still more free to leave bad jobs with “good insurance” and do something else, start their own business, care for loved ones, more education, etc. It’s win win for the vast majority of us when we look at the full picture! :)

  • No, others demanded that insurance remain in the system and not allow price negotiations, making it cost more than everyone in one pool. Expanded Medicaid has improved lives and better health outcomes where it was adopted if anyone cares to look. Less medical bankruptcy and able to use healthcare to live better, as it should be for everyone.

Some states have healthcare for all incomes which shows proven results. Paid leave shows benefits to human health and business too, yet people still oppose them and vote against good for all. Healthcare pool with everyone spreads the risk and cost the most, remove middle profit waste, set reasonable prices, use the policies that already work great. Enough excuses why this or that didn’t work, and use what does work for high quality of life! We can have nice things too!

  • This might help look at some reasons that poll majority doesn’t result in votes for it, and how to get this, which would be great, and with protections so maga doesn’t ruin it if it ever starts and people see it’s better than now. We can see how it improved lives where Medicaid expanded.

How does the psychological strain of artificial scarcity, like the threat of medical bankruptcy or social displacement, create a cognitive trap that drives people to vote against their own material needs and embrace exclusionary, fear-based politics instead of universal safety nets that could relieve their suffering?

  • Instead of distractions over exact numbers, apply Sagan’s Baloney Detection Kit: Does the pattern of owners profiting more from workers’ labor, and compensate as “market allows”, hold true regardless of the specific dollar amounts?

Let us not nitpick numbers as a distraction, but instead focus on the trend and the systemic issues of low wages, inferior benefits compared to many other nations, so they have less artificial scarcity and better lives, which is the goal. Demand better for all, not less for others once you got yours!

  • Mr. Money Mustache’s latest post is about this and I hope is right. Basically he thinks it will not destroy retirement, viewing market panic as a recurring historical pattern driven by fear rather than fundamental economic ruin. Instead of reacting to macroeconomic anxiety, he emphasizes that true wealth stems from human productivity and resilience, suggesting individuals ignore the news cycle and focus on personal financial habits. Also recaps the basics so a great reatd. We can do it one step at a time to increase freedom!

  • Wake up, be alert to the truth available here and now if you choose! Look up questions like this to learn more! “How did the Powell Memo, the Gingrich/Luntz linguistic strategies and modern algorithms systematically construct a framework to restrict majoritarian democracy, as exposed in Democracy in Chains? Why haven’t Dems done the same strategy based on misleading and lies, and how can society transcend these systems to build healthy, human-centric public policies that foster liberty and justice for all?”

Culture war is due to the oppression against people, human rights, by high-control groups, indoctrinated prejudice and punching down. Dems stepped up to support human rights, as compassionate people do. There is a clear division between healthy systems that defend human rights, and unhealthy ones that punch down and other ways those at the top of the hierarchy benefit from and protect. To vote against the rights of supposed loved ones is wrong. Some claim socially liberal but don’t support it in action, just hollow words.

This was purposely twisted to make Dems the instigators of a “culture war”, when it was support for rights to life, liberty and justice for all, supposed founding values. The propaganda that Dems don’t care about workers and men is more lies. It’s actually courageous to support your queer loved ones, rather than joke along with the slurs against them. Something about integrity and what you do when no one is looking. Supporting human rights is basic decency and does not take away from majority. It’s not zero sum as the controlling types want to believe and preach.

  • The propaganda that too many people still fall for, so, yes, maga should stop using it and focus on human first policies to reduce costs and increase wages and benefits. Dems support liberty and justice for all and don’t put trans rights above other issues as the brainwashing says. No politician is perfect on these issues, but some support helpful policies for us more than others. If they ever get enough time and large enough majority to pass big things it would be nice, but can’t blame them for the swings that easily destroy progress that took time to build. Maybe the dnc powers try to limit their majority so they can’t to do what we want? I hope not, but candidates not bought by big money and promote healthy ways should serve us better, if enough ever win at once to do much, hmm.

  • At the core, MAGA and similar high-control groups reject universal systems that reduce suffering, like healthcare, paid leave and climate action, because they require shared responsibility, which conflicts with their hyper-individualist, anti-collectivist worldview. Instead, they promote piecemeal, market-based solutions that prioritize corporate profits while shifting costs to individuals.

This isn’t just bad policy, it’s a deliberate choice to maintain power for a few at the expense of many. Many countries have much lower per-capita costs, better health outcomes and longer life expectancy than the US. Even red states like Arkansas and Montana expanded Medicaid and saw reduced mortality, lower medical debt and improved mental health.

These solutions work when seriously implemented, and they would work here too if enough people prioritized collective well-being over selfish ideologies masquerading as virtue. The decline in quality-of-life measures in the U.S. over the past decade reflects this failure. Doubling down will make all this worse, even though the propaganda from controlling groups will keep blaming minorities and other red herrings and many will fall for it as they do sadly. We really can break free from the indoctrination and see the truth!

  • Ultimately, maga’s unhealthiness is they refuse to adapt to reality, whether that’s climate science, economic data, or global best practices. Their policies actively make life worse for most Americans while enriching a tiny elite. The tragedy is that many of their own voters would benefit from the very systems they oppose, but corporate propaganda, tribalism and proudly choose to stay in dualism, keep them voting against their own interests repeatedly. Until that changes, the US will continue to lag behind nations that prioritize people over profits. Real truth sets us free!
