That’s a cool suggestion, you should post that in the original thread so people see it too!
I am but a cog in a machine. A lazy one though.
If you are new on Lemmy, check out: https://lemmyverse.net/communities for communities to join!

Me too, I really like it! The matrix group of the community volunteers gives me hope that we can continue to use it under better licensing.
We share a small amount of hope that the shareholders of OM give up the trademark of the name, but sadly I don’t think it will happen.
Btw please share your name ideas in the original thread! I crossposted the post to raise awareness, but only the names in Original post are being voted on.
Thanks! To be honest I had no idea what is the best way to raise awareness, so I opted for crossposting. Linking the community might have been a better idea.
Here’s a bit of context: https://sopuli.xyz/post/25540134
Organic Maps is an awesome FOSS mobile map application, it’s being forked because the shareholders of the company that “owns” Organic Maps haven’t been very transparent.
I just wanted to spread awareness by crossposting, please comment your suggestions in the original thread.
In case someone needs context: Organic Maps was forked by its community awhile ago due to the shareholders not being entirely transparent. Full context: https://sopuli.xyz/post/25540134
Agreed! And communities where people participate are really needed - new users are often met with “news communities” which can be depressing if your whole feed consists of bad news.
Cool idea! And yeah we have already some similar communities:
[email protected] (bit quiet)
But not any for riddles specifically I think.
[email protected], find them while they are hot
Activity on [email protected] has gone down since I haven’t had time to draw and I don’t really want to post requests without contributing myself so it doesn’t just look like a dead community. But there is atleast one post a week!
Will have to get back into it soon.
[email protected]’s weekly thread still gathers nice amount of commenters, so that’s a positive! I feel like people are too shy to ask questions there.
Well, atleast they explained how they “fixed” the problem.
Got to love those “all good, problem solved/went away” - posted 5 years ago
Come on OP, you are better than this. This is just a distasteful post.
Sorry can’t open the link; It requires reddit PRO /s
Ah shit I forgot about “display name” since I’ve been using voyager app…
Yes, I believe this is the first scam/spam-to-private-mail bot that reached such a wide audience. On lemmy at least.
Been going on for quite a while now, but it’s difficult to block permanently since there are so many instances where they can make an account. Until they’ve used up all the nicole+instance domain names lol.
Might get a rare nicole if you do that
Just a routine inspection and corrections on the road.
Instance administration is also quite time consuming and is also based on volunteer work.
The vast majority of content on lemmy will be inaccessible to an instance who is under complete anarchy / unmodded.
There is the fediseer project that helps instances block such instances.
If you spin up an LLM farm instance it’s guaranteed to be blocked in many of the big ones - making your instance a lone island.
It’s your instance (lemmings.world) admin.
1 month late to the party but just wanted to confirm that yes.
Another possibility is on sopuli’s General matrix room.
