Nah i have loads of things i want to do do, personal programming projects, woodworking, DIY but instead I would just watch YouTube and play games because they were easier

I medicate because otherwise I’d get nothing done. And that’s not just work related, I mean my own personal projects and hobbies.
I used to think I could get by without, but as I turned 30 and was still procrastinating 90% of my free time away despite me desperately wanting to do something and that in turn also affecting my personal relationships. I needed to go sell help for medication. Even though I wasn’t hallucinating.

Anything else and they’re able to come back.
Some poor pickings for acrobat there. Why no okular?
I mean it happened to me a few times when exploring. I don’t know the names of the places. It was still kinda early on. I think the last place I tried to enter was the mushroom place? And i kept dying in there then had to travel what felt like half of a full zone to get back there because i had yet to find a bench in there.
There’s plenty of moments in hollow night where it can be way more than just 3 screens. Especially when you’re exploring places for the first time and doing know where the next bench will be (I felt like there was no way near enough benches too).
It’s what made me eventually drop the game. I didn’t find it hard, I just could not be arsed. Felt like a waste of time when I’ve got so many other games bI could be playing instead of playing the same 10-15 minutes of gameplay over and over again.
I love metroidvanias too. One of my favourite genres.

MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.worksto Games@lemmy.world•Today's featured article on Wikipedia: Kingdom Hearts: Chain of MemoriesEnglish3·3 days agoI think the remake has better controls. Like just pressing triangle to add to a sleight for example. But the 3d playing field can make using them sleights a bit more awkward than on the GBA.
Oh yeah absolutely i’d rather be next to a smoker than a vaper. But because smokers go to smoking areas that I obviously have no need to go to, I encounter inconsiderate vapers way more than I do smokers nowadays.
Only time smokers become a problem for me now is briefly walking past them or at outdoor festivals.
MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.worksto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Generational differencesEnglish13·5 days agoThis is why i hate vapers way more than i hate smokers. At the very least smokers go elsewhere when they smoke.
(If you’re vaping to quit though you have my respect)
I’m aware. But the point is that these shortcuts are meant to be awkward to the point of almost impossibility to do on a normal keyboard.
These ctrl shift alt win shortcuts are not meant to be doable manually, they’re for dedicated buttons on certain keyboards. A manufacturer wanted a linked in button so Microsoft made that shortcut. However, the fact that they are baked in instead of somehow detecting if a keyboard needs that button in a different way is a little strange. It’s like how the new copilot button uses a key combo with an F key higher than 12

MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.worksto Games@lemmy.world•Players Have Too Many Options to Spend $80 on a Video GameEnglish15·6 days agoI’m trying to point out that i don’t think that the length of a game shouldn’t really be indicative of the price. I have no issue with him enjoying the game or buying it.

Now i have bazzite on my gaming pc and currently experimenting with arch hyprland on my surface go 2 that could no longer get windows updates.
MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.worksto Games@lemmy.world•Players Have Too Many Options to Spend $80 on a Video GameEnglish64·6 days agoThere’s plenty of jrpgs half that price point with twice the length though. Heck, even the previous GTAs have at least that length for a cheaper price, and are occasionally even cheaper now. Be patient and you’ll likely even get the game given away for free.
Yeah I’ll hop on her machine when I get a chance and she’s not too busy playing oblivion to have a mess around.
I’ve not seen permadeath be something inherent to metroidvanias.
Also I understand that the benches are part of the difficulty but I also feel like it’s slightly inflated because of the annoyance of doing so.
When I die in such games, all I can think about is the time I just wasted or am about to waste. No matter how good a game is, my life on this earth is too short and there are other games of the same quality or higher that I can play that will respect my time much better.
