Me at my job that uses windows. Everyone’s convinced Linux is some impossible learning curve. They should know if I can get over that curve then most people can lol I’m not the brightest
I think they’re saying they’re not using Windows to operate Artemis II but the astronauts are probably used to using Microsoft products. So when it comes to simple logging and data entry they probably are using Windows. But these are their own computers and not used to run Artemis II. I may be wrong but that’s how I understood it.
Fortunately not.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Steam is adding support to show estimated FPS for your hardware before buying a game
1·6 days agoI’m happy you can appreciate frames that low. My fiance makes fun of me cuz I stress about anything below 60 lol granted my current PC doesn’t have these issues. Plus I used to game on laptops so I’m perfectly content with lower graphics for smooth frame rate.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Mullvad Browser and Tor Browser have unique-per-computer persistent IDs on fingerprint.com
1·17 days agoThis has been my concern switching over to other OS’. I’m hoping as these alternative choices become more popular this won’t be the case as much but I do still have a Windows laptop I rarely use. Only use it for special use cases.

1·17 days agoSame here. Just lurking has been useful to me here. Nice to see someone in a similar spot (not an expert but passionate about the subject)
I’ve always said banning guns doesn’t make violent people incapable violence. Trying it during a time where we can 3D print guns isn’t really realistic. Its a cultural issue.

2·21 days agoYou have a fair concern but I do want to say it is possible to get the phones secondhand. Even if someone does buy the phone just to install GrapheneOS then at least they only get a small purchase vs a lifetime of selling your data and continuing to profit off of them long-term.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Speeding Up the “Kill Chain”: Pentagon Bombs Thousands of Targets in Iran Using Palantir AI
4·24 days agoYou think it was for show? I am genuinely curious of someone else’s view because I’ve been skeptical myself. The fact they were even working with the Pentagon in the first place was a red flag to me.
Just cut off a friend who tried to tell me racism isn’t a choice. Knew him for over a decade but he fell into an algorithm that he became obsessed with. He really believed he was seeing the “truth” finally.
