Kids in cages is mentioned because penetrating your kids’ social media account is a break of trust and privacy, which is a very bad form of parenting, a good parent would have trust relationship and could ask the child to show the weird behavior on their phone

This is one of the two factors for the bad reputation of France from US, the other one is the cultural shock that French people prefer genuine conversation and hate small talk, they’d find random american’s conversation superficial and faked.
I am neighboring France and we have kinda similar culture, though people here tend to dislike some French people for their lack of patience or accountability and their pride, though it’s a stereotype, as always.

I failed to see the randomness then because it’s way too similar content way too quickly
I found language transfer very weird as you start with way too much english and I guess you need to jump at least 4 hours to learn interesting things
Hate is justified as it turns people away from actually learning a language
I know spaced repetition, but it’s too much repetition and not enough space. The jump ahead feature is bad because you just do the quiz twice until you success then you jumped without knowing previous stuff and you’re stuck with once again slow minded repetition just that it’s now a more “advanced” vocabulary
And it’s so fucking slow. Like yeah I remember the word for man and woman please stop asking me to click on it especially with the image next to it…
They have no ethics, so they follow what’s trendy
I think it’s definitely better than nothing, but it’s not enough to learn any language. Some people might have a legit use for it
