Are HMDs really more repairable? Most recent phone they had that tried to be repairable was Skyline and even there it was pretty limited. And btw that one didn’t have a jack either.

I know it’s cool to hate on this game, especially with it being so mediocre, but to me the number is fairly meaningless by itself. I wonder how that 2 million budget compares to other large releases ( say Starfield, since it’s pretty clear that bethesda also pumped a lot of money into the “gaming press”)
It’s not just perception, it’s mindless tribalism and it’s a form of bigotry in itself. It’s no better than doing things to “own the libs” or whatever.
And the irony, some express this attitude on lemmy, which unlike signal is an actual platform, not a chat app, and with tankie roots to top it off.
It is what it is, I suppose.
Why should it matter if the new users are all magas or not?
Isn’t this the rule with every civ launch? They’re all somewhat half-baked on launch (although 7 admittedly looks quite a bit less baked than the others).
That said, I feel Civ formula seems to be in decline. To me Call To Power was peak civ ( yeah, fight me ), but while 3,4 and 5 were great “second-bests”, I couldn’t really get into 6 and I’m not really planning on playing 7 ( not with this 3-age format anyway ).
Seventh mullet…locked!
Plastic may be so, but glass recycling has been a thing for decades (depending on where you are), aliminium recycling is all well, same for paper (if grease free) There’s also wooden alternatives for a lot of plastic/silicon stuff, and wood can be reused/burned/mulched.
So in a way it IS your responsibility - to give up plastic
This is so strange. Wasn’t it not long ago that studios were crowding into very specific release windows ( usually november iirc ) so they could maximize initial sales? Maybe the digital release era has changed things. I mean, I get it if your game was in the same niche or smth, but “companies might tank” seems a little much.
Either way, if this is true, eoy 2025 is in for a dry spell when it comes to new games.
Edit: Also I find it hilarious how all these “industry analysts” keep popping up suggesting ominous things despite Rockstar not saying a peep about the game besides the trailer. Almost as if they were paid to do it.
Funny, I went blind into RDR2 and, not knowing about John’s story, the epilogues felt so weird and out of place. I still can’t really get into his story, maybe because on a subconscious level it feels like it broke the closure I had from Arthur’s. But yeah, RDR2 really is a fantastic game. They nailed pretty much everything.
I would be tempted to say that it will now turn to shit, but in Discord’s case it was pretty shit already.
The game is not without its flaws, but goddamn if it doesn’t look, sound and feel fantastic.
Times square? Damn, I thought they were strapped for cash and barely profitable.
Good for them I suppose, but just remember that corps are not your friends. Even GOG is part of a stockmarket-listed entity that has fiduciary duties and can turn to crap in an instant. Keep your games offline and archived folks.
Exploit it you say? Please get in line behind the russians, the chinese snd pretty much all arab countries
It’s only ok when we do it, cause we’re the good guys!
Wow, leave it to redditors to make change without actually making change. A few of those subs had open discussions on instituting a ban and they discovered x links were in the dozens per year. Musk is definitely gonna feel that. What they should have done is ban all twitter images as well, those fuckers make up 3/4 of posts on /r/popular. Or ban/restrict musk news, because it feels like the remainng 1/4 posts are “news” that cover musk, including dozens of discussions on whether the nazi cheated in fucking videogames or not ( same as here come to think of it ). But no, they’re addicted to those and unable to make meaningful changes, so they’re left with these halfcocked “bans”.
That’s what I’m thinking. Get the fanbase used to seeing 100+, and then suddenly an 80$ game will feel like a bargain lol
I’m loving the balls on studios. Yesterday we had “experts” suggesting it might cost 100 bux, and today it’s already the beggining of a trend. And the game isn’t even out. In fact, we only have the trailer for the game and they’re already predicting prices.
My prediction is yes, they’ll ask 100$ and more, and yes, people will pay it.
But the nerve, I swear. “Yeah, our games have gotten sloppier every year. And yes, we fired tens of thousands solely for profit reasons. But line must go up, so you better start paying”
Hear hear. I subscribed to a couple news accounts and for last minute news its just perfect. But man, start browsing the popular section and you’re in for a fuckton of activism.
So what’s the news here? Win 10 support ends in october. Doesn’t that automatically mean that they will also not support office apps running on Win 10 starting october?
Problem is folks won’t move, they’re too entrenched. Look at twitter, it’s still going ok despite having been a cesspit for years now. Or reddit, where some moved, but they moved to yet another enshittified platform: Discord. The amount of crap people ( especially the ones on discord ) will put up with is immense before they even consider switching.
