  • There’s a sort of labyrinth called Troy Town labyrinths that supposedly have the effect of solving problems for anyone who walks it. It’s obviously pseudo numble jumble, but there might be something to it.

It’s not a labyrinth as such, because there’s only one route from the entrance to the center and no choices to be made. It’s laid out so that the turns go both left and right and the length varies between turns.

Walking through it requires very little thinking and is not super exciting, but the changes ln direction at unpredictable times are enough to keep the consciousness occupied so the subconscious mind can get to work.

Historically they were used for worshipping, which aligns with the idea of getting revelations.

I’m not sure if it’s better or worse than a regular walk in the park, but I think there’s a point to it, because it removes all conscious choices and gets you into the zone of just “doing” something, allowing the brain to work without interference.

Try it, if you can find one.

I always refuse all helpers in the kitchen.

Not because of the size, but just fuck no. I don’t want to clean up after some “helper” who managed to slice a single cucumber while getting in the way and leaving a chopping board, knife and excess cuttings all over the place because “I don’t know where you want the dishes” or whatever. It’s no help at all.

My mother in law is especially bad. She doesn’t know where things are, how to cook or how to clean, but always insists on “helping”.

I’m trying to cook here, not babysit a senior who doesn’t accept that her role as provider is over. Go play with the grand kids. That’s why we invited you as a guest.

  • Both.

    Copied from various sources elsewhere:

Consumer confidence is a catch-all phrase for the opinions and attitudes of consumers about the current and future strength of the economy.

Consumer confidence index (CCI) is a standardised confidence indicator providing an indication of future developments of households’ consumption and saving.

The Consumer Confidence Index is based on the Consumer Confidence Survey, which has a responding sample size of 3,000 questionnaires. The survey was initially conducted every two months starting in 1967 but changed to monthly tracking in 1977.

There are five questions asked in the survey. The first two relate to present economic conditions while the remaining three are related to future expectations.
