I assume that older, but still supported versions will get the security fix shortly.
For some reason, there is no fix for iOS 18.1 available. I had to update to 18.3
I’ve always driven my cars as long as possible, but somewhere around 300.000 km (200 k miles) is where there were so many issues that I had to get rid of them.

I think the fear comes from other electronics where we saw batteries fail completely. I had a laptop that had a remaining battery life of about 3 minutes and a phone that switched itself off at ~20%.
I think we are spoiled by hardware manufactureres that release new stuff at least twice a year.
Surely they can do a man-in-the-middle attack and gemerate the required private keys and certs on the fly.
With an enterprise CA this is not a huge trouble, but not exactly easy either.

Notable examples microsoft office files (.docx) or android apps (.apk).
Counterexample are media files (mp3, mp4, jpg).
With everything that gets popular, there will always be scammers with fake apps, phishing sites etc
