Oh my… it really just gets worse, huh.

Did
$ /usr/lib/systemd/system-generators/podman-system-generator --user --dryrun
Also prove to be really valuable, too?

Here’s the story you haven’t heard.English67·3 months agoWell, it’s a bit better than that, simply because you can train AI with solar power. Probably nobody does that currently, as it’s easier, faster-to-market and probably (for whatever corrupt reason) cheaper for business to let it run on burning fossils/nuclear. Currently there’s an insane amount of waste, often 1000s of models are trained and only the best performing one is deployed - and then it’s just a fancy autocomplete. The better use is for prediction of material failure, new medicine and protein folding, generally improved processes.
With asbestos you get some convenience, but it’ll be for eternity a pain to find a waste management facility that will accept it.

dust_accelerator@discuss.tchncs.deto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Vibe Coders might be serious, but I cannot take them seriously, especially when they say "It is a must-have skill".331·3 months agoHow are any of the produced “apps” actually useful and not just buggy copies of better things that exist?
Am I missing something or is this just for generic, low tech “I need a website” use cases?
dust_accelerator@discuss.tchncs.deto Fediverse@lemmy.world•The Fediverse Has Already FailedEnglish19·3 months agoSo… then host your own instance and set up your own rules and mod /de-federate how you see fit?
It’s an offer you don’t have to take as-is, and this shows it’s the exact opposite of a failure: you can be the change you demand from others.
dust_accelerator@discuss.tchncs.deto politics @lemmy.world•House GOP unveils plan to raise debt limit by $4 trillion11·3 months agoYeah, but the astroturfing botfarms are only activated to foment “oohh aahh yeah gotta be responsible with our children’s debt” opinions when it’s the other way around. And of course all big “news” entertainment papers and shows are in on it because of access and money. I mean, they’re all doing what they’re paid for and the general public can’t be arsed to be smart about it, call bullshit and cut off the value extraction because of perceived inconveniences (data harvesting = ability to manipulate/steer public opinion = value to sell to those seeking power & control). the populace is the commodity being sold here.
We are all cooked

Anyhow glad to hear it does work in principle and it may be something I’m doing - thanks!
dust_accelerator@discuss.tchncs.deto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What webapps do you selfhost that aren't media/game servers?English3·3 months agoWas trying this, but I’ve had issues with the app not properly synchronizing with the server. Does that work for you and if so, what’s your setup?
Was supposed to replace “Bring” and due to the issues, currently using grocy, where sync works, but is otherwise very tedious to manage inventory.
Thanks for clarifying, haven’t messed with iPhones since 2015
What’s this photos app (is it multiplatform?) and are there requirements for the computer in terms of software it needs to run?
Otherwise Localsend or KDEConnect are friends for transferring files.
Yeah. Nah. Not the bitchboy.
