When you can only commute with a car, yeah it’s dumb. However, I have a daily commute of 1 hour with my bicycle and it’s a great way to get some exercise. In this regard it’s forcing me to move my body, which I otherwise probably wouldn’t in my free time. Gym of life.

Plus, your source files would also have to actually be in that format. As an example, Spotify apparently supports up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC only

Technology@lemmy.world•Audio dongles and the ghost of USB 1English
56·3 months agoThe observation is that most USB-C to 3.5mm (“aux jack”) audio dongles are supporting high quality audio but only support the USB Full Speed (FS) data rate which is not enough for the high quality audio. This causes problems.

At work, I have a very knowledgeable colleague who is quite the Linux nerd. I have been moved into their department and I feel like they never had the chance to share all of their accumulated knowledge with someone, so they kinda dump it onto me and every little question has the chance to become a lecture. I am very thankful for it though, because I get learn a ton but sometimes you just wanna get a bool, without learning kernel internals that are absolutely not related to the question

2·7 months agoI’m still rocking an i7 4790k and its >10 years old! Judging from the other comments it seems the intel issue is more of a recent one though. If I ever configure a new PC, I’ll check out AMD for sure.
Currently doing embedded and I wish Yocto would be based on Nix and not its own language. But I’m starting to get used to it
I knew RMS is supposed to refer to Richard Stallman and while reading my head filled it in as “Richard Maria Stallman”
Using NixOS at home and I swear I’m not a furry! At work, I use CachyOS (Arch). My wife is sad that there was no mention of Solus…
This is why I thought that maybe it would be good to have some kind of pacing cars, e.g. operated by traffic police? I.e. when you already know or can anticipate that there is a large jam building up, you bring in one pacing car on every lane at an appropriate low speed and everyone has to adjust, so the thing you mentioned won’t happen.

As I said, I personally wouldn’t do that in my free time, especially not every single day… because I’m too lazy haha
