Ah great, and then you can go after the ones the AI tells you are most likely to become “pro-Hamas” at some point in future. And then all the ones who are likely to harbor anti-Nazi views.

“Justice Department” is sounding more than ever like Newspeak.
Vivaldi is a very good browser, but if you want to support open web standards it would be better to use a non-Chromium-based browser like one of the Firefox derivatives. Also Vivaldi is closed source. Still, I do like Vivaldi.
It has to be done carefully because, as anyone smarter than a Republican knows, tariffs tend to cause economic damage at home.
Buddhism talks of three poisons of the mind which inevitably create suffering: greed, hatred and ignorance. Turns out, a government based entirely on these doesn’t make things better.
I guarantee you their violence will be deflected by the rich onto other poor people.
The reason he didn’t do that is that he craves Putin’s approval more than that of anyone in the USA.
It depends how good the right-wing media are at lying about why people are finding themselves poorer. Usually they just need to mumble some stuff about immigrants and LGBTQ+ people and their audience is successfully misdirected.
Then a more effective fascist will step in to fill his shoes.
What is it with calling Republicans communists? It just suggests ignorance of what communism is. Is it because they’re affiliated with Russia? Russia stopped being communist in 1991. It would be better to call them Putinists, or kleptocratic-dictator-loving, crooked, anti-American traitors.
Sounds like something a guy working for Putin would say.
AP has been showing a definite rightwards leaning lately. It may be deliberate that the headline gives the impression Trump is a leader who inspires allies, rather than a cult leader with sycophants.
Shouldn’t affordability emerge from the rest of your economic policy instead of appointing one guy to run in the opposite direction from everything else your government is doing?
It just shows that efficiency isn’t what this is about. It’s about destruction.
Once “support our troops” kicks in and Canadians become those people who fight against heroic American soldiers, I fear the majority of the USA will support crushing Canada. A country doesn’t need to have done anything for it to play out this way in the USA. There’s a vast reservoir of “we’re the best in the world” to tap into.
They may be paid. The key thing is that they must be manipulable, whether by paying them or by other means (or a mix), so that they do what you need them to do.
The USA remains strongly anti-communist, so much so that it harms the country’s politics by eliminating the left. And Russia hasn’t been communist since 1991. What Republicans see in Russia is a socially reactionary, shamelessly self-enriching right-wing strongman leading a country where liberal attitudes, dissent, and any kind of rights for minorities are harshly suppressed. That’s what they like.
I don’t think it’s hopeless, but it requires organisation to spread this understanding among people who won’t go looking for it and may be initially hostile to it. The basics of class consciousness are not that hard to grasp if presented clearly. The challenge is how to get people listening at all. You can’t just have some college-educated stranger start shouting this at people. It requires building a political movement skilfully, bit by bit, among working-class people who can take ownership of it.
