  • We once had played this game with friends where you get a word stuck on your forehead and you have to guess what are you.

One guy got C4 (as in explosive) to guess and he failed. I remember that we had to agree with each other whether C4 is or is not a weapon. Main idea was that explosives are comparatively rarely used in actual killing opposed to other things like mining and such. Parallel idea was that is Knife a weapon?

But ultimately we agreed that C4 is not a weapon. It was invented not primarily to to kill or injure. Opposed to guns, that are only for killing or injuring.

Take guns away, people will kill with literally anything else. But give an easy access to guns, people will kill with them. Gun is not a tool, it is a weapon by design.

  • I am freshly into selfhosting and am running Beelink s12 pro with Jellyfin on. Ripped tons of DVDs and about to get blu ray drive for ripping. Never paid a cent to Netflix or any other streaming sites. Dunno why my wife pays entry subscription to Netflix. Cant watch FHD or higher, got ads, cant mirror screen to a TV with entry subscription, no choice in what movies to watch, shows from competitors are not on netflix. Fuck this shit, man. I pay for DVDs and blurays anyday as long as I can chose what to watch and to keep it to myself.

Got recently raspberry pi 3. Planning to setup private VPN in my homeland where pirating is not an issue yet.

  • Pretty sure that as of recent years, meth is often mixed with fentanyl without being disclosed to a user or probably even a dealer.

But it also funny to see how people say that this should be done yet they somehow forget that (allegedly) it is not government that sells drugs but drug cartels that do. I bet they wouldn’t mix birth control into drugs at all. Why would they? That in best case for them does nothing for a higher price of production, and in worst case it will deter customers. Shit’s never going to happen.

  • I moved from my homeland to another EU country. When applying for a job through an agency, they asked me if 27 days of vacation is enough for me, cause typically everyone have 30 or more days in this country. I looked at her, smiled and said “Yes, that is enough”. Little did she knew that back in my town I had maximum of 20 working days vacation + by the contract I was not able to take out more than 10 days in a row.

  • if it wasn’t fun for people, people wouldn’t be buying them

I am not a psychology major or anything, but isnt it that microtransactions are designed in such a way that they hook players in not by being fun but by being a literal gambling? Or in case no lootboxes, FOMO? Like LoL once done with many skins stating “It is a one time possible to purchase, never comes back like ever!!!1!11” to later sell them once again.

Back in a day you either customize game yourself by downloading mods and models, or you earn your fancy skins by being good at the game. Today it is just a purchase. There is no fun in cosmetics beside bragging about them. There might be fun in pay to win, but not for those who doesn’t pay. Neither it is healthy fun.
