It’s not about loving birds for you people it’s about hating cats. That is very clear to me.
I like cats very much and cats like me. But existing within an ecosystem or society means you have to create rules that solve for larger outcomes than the scope of you and your cat. Bird play an extremely valuable role in the ecosystem. Cats frankly, a bit less so, even though they are great pets.
I think the best approach here is to step out of your own day to day and think about the best balance to be acheived with this particular issue between humans and the environment they live in. Pretend you are the emperor of the world and you need to make the wiseset decision you can that maintains a sustainable balance. Would your choice be unhindered cat population expansion?
You: “going into the slaughterhouse is better than being jabbed by the cattle prod. I dont know where these wood walls came from but I’m not into jumping. I blame the ones of us making a fuss about the walls, or complaining about the smell of blood. They are to be blamed for everything thats wrong here.”
Harris and Biden hemorrhaged votes from almost every single demographic. They lost everyone. But its everyones fault but theirs? Not any sort of systemic problem?
Come on now.
there is no empathy left in me for someone who’s getting what they asked for
Is that really something you think anyone here will care about? whether you “have empathy” for them? You have a wildly overinflated ego buddy. Have empathy, dont have it-- it doesnt matter to anyone. But if you could be less tedious and noisy we’d all appreciate that. Why dont you try that angle? Threaten to be yourself unless we do what you want.
Maybe he’s angling to be one of those “republican defectors” the DNC so badly wants to bring into the Democratic party. We get Liz Cheney AND Tucker Carlson on our side, everybody.
You gotta fly to both Moscow and Tel Aviv to be on the republican in-crowd, Tucker, you idiot. Man, Tucker cant even get throne-sniffing right.
I expect a few traitors in the house, but 16 senators is next level Benedict Arnolding. And they got both of the California senators too.
Theres only 45 dems in the senate right now so thats ~36% of the dem senators being turncoats on this issue. Many other Dem turncoats on other issues. I think they get together and decide who is going to take the hit this time while the others pretend to play defense.
So many rich psychopaths in capitalist societies.
We really are a bunch of dumb apes, and we are doomed as a species. Its just a matter of time.
By your chosen username I’d guess you are a teenager with a cat. No one is coming for your particular cat, we are trying to save birds by talking about the norm of cat owning and how that should probably change over time.
Poor Joe. I will miss his casually racist “gaffes”, his rampant war crimes, and his destroying the entire western world order. Lets not speak ill of him now folks.

The rich have successfully marketed their class war into a ridiculously contrived race war against the oppressed, long suffering white people.
Its profoundly stupid and does not reflect reality at all, but we are doing it anyway.
The Chair has ultimate control of the party, and we got a drastic change in chair.
Oh “drastic” change huh? First thing the new Dem chair (Martin) did was put up that right-leaning zionist bluedog centrist idiot Slotkin to rebutt trumps state of the union speech. Thats some impressive change. And its been Dems collaborating on republican votes since then, hasnt it. I see no change whatsoever with the new chair. If anything he fumbled over himself to assure the donors as quickly as he could that they were still calling the shots, and that progressivism hadnt been let into the building.
guillotines is much too generous of a Just outcome. We need something slower.
centrists still have zero understanding about this.
Agreed. Lying is the default. No one is surprised at all if politicians lie. And theres no accountability because of it, so why not lie.
I think its a bias built around expectations. For some kids who like to rub feces on their faces and have a low IQ, you are just happy if they smell fine and dont disrupt the class. For other kids we assert a normal civilized standard of politeness, cleanliness, and output. If the teachers/administrators mess up too much, maybe the feces smearer gets pushed into a position of influence in the class out of desperation.
To move forward with the metaphor, we had higher standards for a democrat-- or we used to-- and we expect corruption and nastiness from republicans. And when the kids who we know to not have low potential start whining that how come they dont get treated with the tolerance we have of the face feces smearer, they get slapped and told thats not a measure they should be aspiring to. We dont judge ourselves by the lowest common denominator. We strive to live our lives better that that. The slap is a hint not to dwell in the gutter.
edit: and yes, I’m an old person who got slapped plenty growing up. And I grew up just fine and am now a joy to be around. (but yes, maybe rhetorical slapping is best)
Lately all the time, man. Its been a really disappointing bunch of years-- I think for most people I know. We are clearly not the people I was raised to think we were.
