Yep, the only time things have broken in Arch for me has been with Nvidia driver updates.

11·3 months agoIt’s still not a bad system if you have to support and provide bugfixes for multiple versions of software. However, if you only support the latest version and only create bug fixes and features based on the latest release or main branch, then git-flow is way overkill.

Linux@programming.dev•Sudo's maintainer needs resources to keep utility updatedEnglish
26·3 months agosudo-rs doesn’t implement all the functionality of regular sudo, which causes certain applications to break. I had to install sudo.ws on the latest Ubuntu to get regular sudo back. Many installation scripts depend on sudo, not alternatives.

Musk didn’t create Tesla. He bought it, and is currently running it into the ground. Employees have compared him to a pidgeon who flies in, shits on everything, and then leaves again. If anything, Tesla’s relative success is in spite of Musk, not because of him. Tesla is already starting to lose value due to Musk’s antics and the fact that all other manufacturers are making electric cars now, too.
Warren Buffet may be one of the better billionaires, but that’s not saying much. He still invests in fossil fuel companies and could give away more of his wealth to charity. And then there’s the underlying problem with an economic system that steals living wages from employees to enrich investors like Buffet, but that’s a story for another time.

Linux@programming.dev•sudo-rs Affected By Multiple Security Vulnerabilities - Impacting Ubuntu 25.10English
101·6 months agoThe latest LTS release has really old software. The problem here is that the Ubuntu heads are pushing for replacement of core system utilities that aren’t ready for prime time. These Rust components need at least another year to cook. This is just the latest bad decision from Ubuntu leadership. See SNAP.
If you want stability, just get Debian. If you need newer software, get an Arch-based distro.
