  • except that blackwall was put there by corporations to protect their interests(malicious ai not messing everything up). Here we need that kind of blackwall to protect our interest against corporations which are essentially the malicious entities. But I wonder if non-corporate people/groups can even consider such projects anymore let alone maintain them so it would protect more than couple of people or small groups. It seems to me humanity in the west has lost the community spirit completely. Even fediverse feels more like fading embers that still warm you. Its just everyone for themselves and maybe their own little clique.

i would really love to be wrong.

  • if you generate graphics, story and stuff with llm and make them more pretty through human labour, you still have llm generated crud. Generated story acted by humans is still same as fully generated one. using generated slop as placeholders might be fine, but it most likely still influences what they actually make so still no.

if you are just starting something and have no idea about anything and no mental image about what is what at all, THEN using generated stuff might be okay as an example so you can get the idea what is going on, as long as you stop using anything generated as soon as you can.

llm and any datacenters involved with it need to go up in flames.

no he got a point. If someone started doing that they would just get captured and tortured or killed. What can you meaningfully achieve with random violence, alone? Owning a gun will not help you protect yourself against force that can hunt you down and use your loved ones as leverage. Its just copium so people dont organize thinking they have power to protect themselves if things get bad but they never will use it because they are alone and scared, rightfully so.

  • just dont make this too obvious to the companies that do this if its possible, otherwise they will try to hide their bots better.

Also, is there a “tos” for open source projects, kind of like what is acceptable behavior and what is not? Directly calling out ai generated “contributions” as malicious and unwanted would at least remove the facade from them as non hostile.

Like, if someone trys to add malicious code to the project, that is definitely gainst some kind of agreement, no? So add slop to it too.
