Gee, do you think so?

Gee, do you think so?

“Protecting children” is one of the last and best tactics people use when they’re trying desperately to distract from other problems.

What disturbs me most about all the tracking and profile building that’s occurring is the loss of the sense of freedom and autonomy we once had when we knew no one was watching us. Just the idea that someone could know more about us than we’re willing to share or even know ourselves creates self-imposed limits on our thoughts and actions when it’s essential that we maintain these freedoms.

Of course they are.

If I wasn’t hungry I would so fuck with these things.

I’m imagining the cases of clinically diagnosed mental health issues are far less than the self-diagnosed. And there are a lot of people on social media who claim to have mental health issues when they don’t know what they’re talking about.

It’s obviously reminding him he’s secretly gay every time he sees it.

I was neutral, but now I’m on Planters side after reading these replies.

How can there be such a disparity of standards when Trump can be accused of such things and far worse and just have it roll off his back with no consequences at all yet the much milder accusations against Platner might derail his candidacy?

It is beyond doubt that this is the same technique Trump has used for years to support a fictitious narrative yet the media still shies away from doing anything substantial to counter it. It’s pure propaganda and there are ways to address it. One way is a truth sandwich. First, state the actual facts. Then mention the false claim and attribute it clearly. Then restate the facts. The goal is to prevent the falsehood from becoming the most memorable part of the story. The media must also move away from “both sides” journalism if evidence overwhelmingly supports one side by suggesting that imbalance. Another technique is not to overamplfy every provocation. Something like this needs to be on page 3. Not one of the first headlines on the site or in the paper.
The media could really help us here but they seem to have completely failed us.

That would be a great way to fund a UBI.
You know, there actually is quite a bit of evidence that free will doesn’t exist, but there’s also a tremendous amount of pushback to this idea for no other reason than, if true, it completely negates the concept of responsibility.
