Nobody knows! There’s no specific disclosure that I’m aware of (in the US at least), and even if there was I wouldn’t trust any of these guys to tell the truth about it anyway.

Anthropic and OpenAPI both have options that let you use their API without training the system on your data (not sure if the others do as well), so if t3chat is simply using the API it may be that they themselves are collecting your inputs (or not, you’d have to check the TOS), but maybe their backend model providers are not. Or, who knows, they could all be lying too.
And I can’t possibly imagine that Grok actually collects less than ChatGPT.

I’m with you 100% from the privacy and cybersecurity perspectives. That said, if they can be solved (e.g. at some point there will simply be no need for any more training data, and computers will be fast enough to do all the fancy stuff locally), I’d vastly prefer having an appliance do my housekeeping chores than a cleaning service.

Have you had any luck importing even a medium-sized codebase and doing reasoning on it? All of my experiments start to show subtle errors past 2k tokens, and at 5k tokens the errors become significant. Any attempt to ingest and process a decent-sized project (say 20k SLOC plus tooling/overhead/config) has been useless, even on models that “should” have a good-enough sized context window.

I do actually wonder if Anthropic shares data with Amazon, or OpenAI with Microsoft (their majority shareholders). That would be a direct 1:1 comparison with what’s happening between deepseek and bytedance (though at least in the latter case you can host-your-own since the model is open source).
