This represents a pretty fundamental misunderstanding of the geopolitics of the Middle East.

Israel is the country currently committing genocide against the Palestinians, attacking and trying to gain new territory in Syria, breaking ceasefire agreements, carrying out targeted murders of innocent children, journalists, and frankly anyone they feel like killing, and in general just acting like a country of vicious amoral killers.

And in case you’re worried about my tone or personal experience, I am a Jewish descendant of Holocaust survivors, with family who are Israeli, and with whom I will never speak again. Israel is the bad actor here, and unfortunately it’s not just the government and the army, but most of the general population that supports the genocide.

Nukes are not the problem, nor are they the solution or even an effective deterrent. And while Israel’s neighbors are by no means good global citizens, it’s Israel and its murderous, racist, and genocidal rage that are the problem.

Two bad things can be true at the same time.

Israel is currently engaged in ethnic cleansings in Gaza and the West Bank.

      True.

Many of Israel’s neighbours would “drive the Jews into the sea” if they ever got the chance.

      Also true.

The answer to genocide is not inviting more genocide.

And yes, nukes are effective as a deterrent. Look at how reluctant the West is to support Ukraine against a genocidal invasion because of Russia’s repeated nuclear threats. There’s no way any country is going to give up its nuclear weapons after Ukraine showed just how little security guarantees from the great powers are actually worth.

many of israels neighbors would “drive the jews into the sea” if they ever got the chance

Maybe in the 60s and 70s but every one of israels neighbors, except Saudi Arabia, have normalized relations. Saudi Arabia has no intention of attacking Israel and risking there relationship with the west, nukes or no nukes. Syria just got invaded by them and all there new islamist government has given was a light denouncement. If this were the hay day of Israel hate they wouldve called for a jihad to clear out the jews, times change.

The largest actor on their borders seeking their destruction is hezbollah, and they’ve proven they can’t even defend south Lebanon, much less march on tel Aviv.

Also Israel has shown repeatedly that it can defend itself fine against its neighbors without nukes, even if all there neighbors team up to attack them.

Those are good points, especially on nuclear deterrence re: Russia. I think Israel could be considered to be a bit different in that sense, since their nuclear program (that we know exists) is still technically a secret. But I think I’m probably wrong on how all that works, so good call.

Lol they’ve been effective so far. Tehran knows what will happen if it processes fissile material into a weapon. You have misunderstood.

What if your calculous is wrong, your media sources tainted by anti American propaganda, and there’s not actually a genocide occuring? What if is there are sad but nonetheless valid explanations for the massive civilian death tolls?

Plenty of people including virtually the entire intelligence and diplomatic corps of the western world, along with virtually everyone in Washington DC, disagrees with you.

Imagine bootlicking so hard you think it’s a bad thing to be on the other side of the exact same ghouls who lied us into the Iraq War. How can any of us live with ourselves knowing that Dick Cheney thinks we’re bad people?
