I have the SV08 Max, and I’m mostly-happy with it. I’m gonna focus on what I don’t like about it since I’m a person on the internet and that’s what we do:
They really could’ve provided more profiles with it. Especially for nozzle sizes that aren’t 0.4 since they sell nozzles for it ranging from 0.2 through 1.0
They don’t seem to be interested in making a smooth plate, which is annoying.
It is a huge PITA to load filament. The automatic feeder stops pushing filament through any time the end of the filament hits a curve in the bowden tube. I wish you could just disable the fucking thing long enough to push new filament to the extruder by hand instead of sitting there for 5 minutes constantly pressing the feed button that moves the filament 1 femtometer at a time.
It is really, really loud. Like louder than my 3 other printers and my laser (with exhaust) combined. And I have the enclosed version.
The included spool holder should have been designed for 3 or 5kg spools. The machine is designed for giant prints, so should he able to handle large spools by default. But that’s fixed easily enough with a print.
The intake and exhaust fans are too close to each other on the enclosure so don’t actually lead to proper air circulation, so the doors have to be left open if you’re printing low-temp filaments like PLA and PETG.
I would probably recommend Prusa or Sovol. Although I’ve not used Sovol, they seem to be very popular and not screwing people over.
