This is honestly the first time I’ve seen pretty much anything about it.

You mean apart from the bigotry and hate?

Because there’s also the “how dare you care about your child more than people you aren’t personally responsible for!” thing.

There is no bigotry or hate, just a lack of empathy from the person I’m replying to. It sucks what’s happening to their son, but what’s happening in gaza is 10x worse by any metric.

No, a lack of empathy is telling someone they should care less about their own child’s life being at risk, and who cares because they’re trans, than people on the other side of the world.

That is about as unempathetic as you can get. And I’m amazed you don’t realize it.

The premise that parent puts forward is that I should be OK with genocide as long as his kid is ok. That’s unemphatic. By any metric of the situation, one issue is far more important and extreme than the other.

They said nothing of the sort. That’s just a lie.

And no, by any metric of the situation, a person’s child is far more important than anything else in their life. Or should be. Because that child didn’t ask to be born. They are owed everything.

And in this case, this child’s life is in danger because of a genocide of trans people that is already well underway and that you apparently don’t give a shit about. I guess there’s only one genocide that matters.

And what exactly have you done about it other than berate people for caring more about their own children than they do the genocide in Palestine? Because I spend hours each week contacting politicians for JVP. Before I escaped on Monday with my own queer child (who you probably think I should also not care about), the staffers at Larry Buschon’s regional office were sick of me going there twice a month.

Have you done anything other than sit on your ass and tell people not to care about their kids?
