it gets lost, or if you move out, you would have to apply to get a real copy of it, and you have to schedule for appointments and you must show valid proof before even get any of these identifications. Driver license/ID dont count as proof apparently,. often times its booked so in advanced much you might not be able to get appts weeks to months later depending on where you are. Oh and theres no ONLINE application where you just apply and submit, or schedule, it must be inperson. its intentional, and the govt havnt tried to solve this issue, just like how our taxes are complicated on purpose.
