You have a cartoonish understanding of how the USSR worked. The 1930s famine, as I already stated, was a result of poor weather conditions combined with underdeveloped, still-feudal agricultural practices. Katyn was neither settler-colonialism nor genocide, but was most likely committed by the Nazis given that the ammo was German, the execution method Nazi, and manufacturing dates of the ammo happened at a time when the Soviets could not have accessed them.
Too bad Russians contradict you… Keep denying genocide. What’s next, Palestine is just suffering from a storm? The Armenians just were tired after a walk? I’m curious, which other genocides do you deny?
I don’t deny real genocides like in Palestine, I deny fake genocides like white genocide in South Africa. Anyone that actually cares about genocide should be able to properly attack genuine genocide and properly attack those who senselessly hurl the term as a means to discredit their geopolitical opponents, thereby making light of real genocides like in Palestine.
So you just ask if the perpetrators agree with you politically, then it’s all good, it’s an accident, it was the other guy, it was actually good, the victims had it coming…
Nah, I pay attention to actual historical fact rather than seeing if the allegations line up with what I want to be true to delegitimize my political opponents.
Nah, I gave clear explanations, which you just handwaived. My order of operations starts with facts, and then this forms who I consider to be my geopolitical opponents. You gave no explanations for anything, just spouted terms as though the terms themselves stand alone.
I already explained that the 1930s famine was caused by weather disaster combined with underdeveloped, feudal agriculture that managed to complete collectivization by the mid-1930s, which is why famine never happened again outside of wartime. I already explained that the ammunition used in Katyn was German manufactured, and the execution method common among the Nazis and unheard of among the Soviets. I’m aware that the Red Army intervened in Hungary and Czechoslovakia, as was their legal right to stop fascist counterrevolution. None of this has anything to do with allegations of genocide or settler-colonialism.
It isn’t that I need handholding, it’s that you offer absolutely nothing but a hope that simply throwing buzzwords at someone that has done the due diligence of researching these topics as part of becoming a communist will mean anything to me. You need to actually present evidence, construct an argument, not entirely ignore factual information that goes against your fragile narrative. It’s disappointing at minimum because the conversation can never go anywhere if you operate purely on reflex.

You are ready to acknowledge the genocides of your political opponents (us, Australia, Israel).
Just deny the genocides that are not convenient. “Just an unfortunate event”. “Must be the weather”.

I didn’t handwaive, I rejected your lies. I guess the next step is you requiring me to prove a negative.
I think holodomor and katyń do stand alone. You should also know what Soviet tanks in Prague and Budapest did. How much hand holding do you need?
