As far as I know, this hasnāt been really confirmed with a smoking gun, as it were. There was an independent journalist named Adam Cochran who claimed this on X: https://x.com/adamscochran/status/2105090249445769519 . And itās true that .si is the country domain for Slovenia, where Melania comes from, and where Barron also has dual citizenship. And it does look like there were several .si domains were purchased shortly before Trumpās announcement and then sold for huge sums, like ābuild.si.ā But I donāt think itās actually documented that thereās a direct connection to the Trump family in this, and thatās probably why mainstream news sources arenāt covering it at this point. Someone knew about this ahead of time and made money off it, and given this administrationās history, it would be kinda foolish to just trust that the Trumps arenāt among them. But itās a big actual allegation to make without direct proof.
Thatās usually done if the contents are criminal or infringe a trademark, etc, not just for any reason. Each TLD operator can essentially establish their own rules but they have to let ICANN review and if you have open domain sign-ups then ICANN will get mad at you if you break the rules you committed to (this will mostly be handled in private and thereās not much chance a country will lose the right to maintain their own TLD, but private companies operating TLDs might)

Canāt Slovenia revoke any domain using its TLD?
Would be a chance to do something funny to the slop industry. Especially if they coordinated it.
