I can of course only speak for myself, but I’m sick and tired of using “gentle touch” on MAGAts or their local equivalents. I think one of the reasons we’re in the mess we’re in is because people are too polite to call out the bullshit when they encounter it face to face.

Peer pressure is one of the only things that can change minds. Facts don’t do it so much as your friends and people you look up to pushing back on you.

      On one hand, yes.

On the other, the logical conclusion I come to from that is to kill / do a concentration camp on them. That strikes me as immoral and part of the reason I fundamentally could never be on their side.

In an ideal world, I’d be able to convert them to my point of view. I know that’s a lofty goal and probably a fool’s errand, but I see it as the only way to proceed while retaining humanity.

Of course, prepare for the worst were a totalitarian state is implemented and don’t idly stand by while despots do despotic things, stay sharp on your first aid and fitness, etc. I’m not so pacsifist that I’d advocate Inaction, but to say we’re beyond the Point of No Return seems to be turning a blind eye to history.
