      Been happening since statehood

      Texas government hates democracy.

Meanwhile, Dems had the fully power of the Federal Government in 2009 and again in 2021 and… did nothing. So white nationalists continue to pack and crack districts, while liberals wring their hands over DC or Puerto Rico Statehood because they can’t get broad bipartisan consensus.

Has the other side done something to stop this nonsense in the last… say 30 years? Same with all the other old stuff they (ab)use, why does it still exist?

It’s hard to stop things like this, unless you are actually in control of the local government. As long as Texas is a majority red state, Democrats have very limited power there.

Do you mean, has a Republican state government ever been replaced by a Democratic majority? Not in recent history…at least as far as I can remember.

Or do you mean, has one state ever tried to sue another state, over the way they manage their own election infrastructure? The answer to that would be “no”. They can’t. Each state controls its own elections.

Republican states have recently tried to sue Democratic states for making it too easy for people to vote in Federal elections…but not the other way around. Those lawsuits never went to court, due to the fact that they had no legal merit.
