Is “S’pore” a thing?
Short for Singapore, apparently. First time I’ve heard it.

LG is supposed to be Life’s Good. No one calls it that either.

LG was originally lucky goldstar, a combination of two companies that merged. They rebranded as LG and “Life’s Good” was just a slogan they tacked on, it was never the company name.
No one calls them Lucky Goldstar either.
They used to, the point is that “life’s good” was never the name of the company, it was a slogan.

I get the feeling the Chinese don’t particularly care to westernise their brand names anymore …
I think they need to consult with any english native speaker and ask them what comes to mind first when you hear the term yangwang
That’s actually not what BYD stood for originally, it was a reference to a city I think
