This is a wild take. He just thinks his policies will be so popular that even urban areas might go red in the mid-terms. It’s delusional, but I can’t see Democrats gaining much ground unless they stop flopping around on the ground like fish.

Even if Trump did say something like this, it wouldn’t have any practical effect. States have their own constitutions.

Or he has enough control to commit electoral fraud on a massive scale.

No, this stopped being a joke quite some time ago. It’s deadly serious, and the part that the rest of the world really can’t understand is why so few of you are taking it seriously.

Because they are desensitized to the insanity. I live in canada and it’s the same way here. Nobody seems to think it’s that serious. I feel Jennifer Laurence in that movie don’t look up because I’m the only one that is taking it seriously. At least in my own life. I know there are a lot of others out there, but they certainly aren’t making themselves known to me.

As a fellow Canadian, yeah, I feel you. People are still acting like we’re in a trade war, and not understanding how dangerously close we are to being Poland in 1939.

The very same second these asshats deny the constitution is the very same second the largest states band together to fight another civil war to keep this group of states together, or disband and take all their tax dollars with them to firm their own governments. Either way, Trump and his psychos lose everything when that happens.

He can’t just reorganize states, this is an idiotic idea. States are joined together to form a union/Republic, and that ceases to be once the adjoining document is dissolved. All those military bases stay with the states they are in and will be taken over by local reserve units. No more US army…etc.

well, except that a civil war won’t have battle lines and territory.

both sides are everywhere and fairly spread out. It’ll be sectarian violence. More like The Troubles, with insurgent actions and exploding drones. also, missile strikes.

If you look at the years leading up to the Civil War, that’s exactly how it was: irregular warfare and small armed skirmishes all over the place, on both sides of the Mason-Dixon line.
