oh it gets even worse than that. the coca leaves are shipped to Jersey so the cocaine can be removed before use in the drink! source.

Hey, that reminds me of my mother’s special chocolate chip cookie recipe. Who doesn’t love the warm gooey smell of chocolate chips? Well this was her special recipe when we asked her for cookies. She said:
- go to the fucking store
- and buy the goddamn cookies there, you think I’m your fucking slave?
- if you don’t have money then get a fucking job
- christ, you ruined my life.
MMMM! The heartwarming memories of childhood!
Hmmm… in the US, I think cocaine cola was illegal in the 50s, but you could get amphetamines pretty easily…
yes, as evidenced by the dent in the seated guy’s cane.

Sergio@lemmy.worldto Wikipedia@lemmy.world•Itasha ("painful" or "cringeworthy"+ "car")English3·7 days agoIn Japan, an itasha (痛車; literally “painful” or “cringeworthy”[1][2] + “car”)
FUN FACT: wiktionary includes an english dictionary of japanese kanji. I was like: isn’t “car” in japanese “kuruma”? so I looked up that second character and found that it is the kun vs on reading: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/車#Japanese
Oh yeah I saw a car like this in the college town nearby. Sure it was kinda cringe but wtf you do you. (I don’t know what kind of anime it was reppin…)
I dunno fam, I wouldn’t mess with someone else’s tool box without their permission, no matter what our relationship…
Sergio@lemmy.worldto Bluesky@lemmy.world•Society is getting sick of selfish "Conservative values"English21·8 days agoEven if you’re selfish, free healthcare for all makes sense. A 28-year-old who doesn’t work can still be a disease vector, and if they don’t stay healthy now they will be an even bigger health burden later in life.
I think it’s less selfishness than a morality derived from:
- slave-owners, who had to force enslaved people to work
- puritanical christians who assumed human nature was naturally lazy and immoral
- zero-sum business owners who don’t want to see others “get ahead” in ways they hadn’t
- people who believe raising a family isn’t “real work”, just something you should do between jobs
The sad thing is, 30 seconds with an image editor would have fixed that. But apparently that would be too much work.

“suspicious behavior” is just a BS term used for switching the blame back to the consumer. Kind of like “for your convenience, we are [removing a capability]” or “for your safety, we are [taking away a right.]” You are correct that it makes no sense.
nah, I like this kind of conversation. back on r$ditt this whole thread woulda been just deleted.
You can sell them to Ea-nasir.
I did get a sticker. I also got “sticker shock”.
Plot twist: once you accept the wheel without reinventing it, you have to pay a monthly wheel subscription.

hmmm… historically, coca leaves were holy to the indigenous people of the andes and still play an important cultural role. ok, that’s all I’m gonna argue.
