I work tech support for an msp. Wanna know how many times I hear “chat gpt said to fix it this way”? Wanna know how many times it’s from c level people? It’s a venn diagram that’s almost a complete circle.

The only qualification a voter needs is to be subject to the authority of the State. Any other calls to “qualify” voters is voter suppression. It’s VoterID, Poll taxes, and Literacy tests.

If a voter decides on a candidate because Mars is in retrograde, that’s just as legitimate as the vote of the head of the political science department. low information voter = anti-democracy. If you can exclude them because their stupid, then you can exclude them for being black or a woman too. You can whittle it down until you get the utopia of the superior, or fascism as it’s commonly known.

If your system requires improved and enlightened humanity, then your system is tyrannical and sucks.

      I agree with you.

But you cannot ignore that there is a huge part of the demographic; which, live in an information bubble and are low on the critical thinking skills to evaluate this bubble. They tend to be easily led to vote any which way those that control the bubble want.

This is a serious problem that required serious thought on how to solve it; and critically, the solutions are not coming from within the bubble, as those within the bubble have been led to believe the problem is those outside the bubble.

Thus in some way we have to impose the fix from the outside. My usual call is for education and regulation of the flows of information to be factual. Any more force than this generates a significant counter narrative; strengthening the feeling of “us vs them” and working against the very thing we are trying to achieve.

Beyond vague notions of improving education; and legislating factual news reporting, with harsh punishments for lying/significant bias. I don’t have a fleshed out plan; just the skeleton of an idea.
