Why is there a slice of pie on the bed
The artist has “secret” symbols that he hides in all of his comics, and the slice of pie is one of them. By the names in the upper left hand corner is a “3”, which means he’s put 3 of the symbols in this panel. There’s also a stick of dynamite and “O2” (which stands for Olive Oyl).

The joke is that by the rules the king knows one basic move.
So does the bishop, but he absolutely plows at it
The King excels at short thrusting motions.
If anything, even what the King does would be too much, as it is enough to kill the person next to him.
I agree that the King is small but effective, but I think that Queen’s just prefer a Bishops long reach
