I had a really good viewing of the Perseids as a youth, but nearly every time I try and catch them as an adult I get about three. One year was especially disappointing as we spent time and money going up a mountain and camping out for the event. All for two meteors. It was a nice time otherwise.
Is there more light pollution in that spot? That could be why you aren’t seeing as much as before, if the light polution got worse since then
