“Lopez-Gomez was charged under a recently passed state law that made it a state crime to illegally enter the state.”

So how does tourism work now? Is there a state office for immigration?

[defined] illegal entry as occurring when an “unauthorized” alien of at least 18 years of age “knowingly enters or attempts to enter” the state after eluding immigration inspection. The crime is designated as a first-degree misdemeanor subjecting the alien to a mandatory minimum prison sentence of nine months upon conviction.

      Basically tourist are fine.

But let’s not kid ourselves here. Florida was always going to use this law for the lower half of the Family Guy skin chart.

Nah. Probably just some vague law about it being illegal to enter that state as a “terrorist”.

Which is just a word for a brown person or a white person with a brown enough sounding name like “Lopez” or “Muhammad”
