If a human doesn’t look like they’re actively on drugs and they say “I kinda like this thing” that carries a lot more weight than a CGI or celebrity mascot ever could hope for.

Not here usually, thanks to a rule change. I’ve seen a post or two where he’s posted a comic like OP’s that never had any watermark, as those are of course allowed to be posted. He also made his own sad little comics community that I can’t be bothered to remember the name of.
A signature within the panel that can’t be cropped out is pretty standard. Just signing your name. Look at https://lemmy.world/c/garfield for example. Like sometimes he has signature in the 1st panel, date in the final panel.
