Its kind of impressive how someone can say something so stupid that its genuinely difficult to argue against.

Not because there isn’t an argument. It’s because it’s so out of left field, you somehow ended up with a basketball.

They might as well bring out some Bronzo spokescreature to literally give the finger to the part of his base that actually thought he was going to give them cheap eggs.

Because, what are they going to do about it?

But I was told by dumbass “conservatives” that having a phone (or a TV or whatever electronic pos) meant historic levels of wealth and income inequality were A-OK. Surely, those people couldn’t have been just lying to me…on the Internet. Who would do such a thing?

The largest private employer in the United States is Wal-Mart. I can assure you that cheap prices are 100% part of the American dream.

And it’s a dream because you have to be asleep to believe it. Walmart loves running anyone else out of town by keeping price slow and the store as unprofitable until no competition is around. Then after that’s out they’ll raise prices because the fuck you gonna do about it?

As a Canadian the rampant enshittification of American products is one of the reasons I avoid them now (pre tariffs).

America has many high quality brands, but so often once they beat out competitors they dump the quality and ramp up the prices.

I’ve lost a lot of trust in American goods, and it’s not the workers faults.

Oh man I remember in the 90s my dad said the same thing about Chinese products. Then I became an adult and noticed the only American products that actually existed were the plastic covers they put around Chinese metal

Cool now that we’re not optimizing for the cheapest goods and services possible can we raise the minimum wage

    Trump: …

Pass the pro act and expand unions to raise wages

    Trump: …

    Raise working and regulatory standards

    Trump: …

Stop using the cheapest most environmentally harmful energy sources

    Trump: …

This is insane. They could have kept playing MAGA like a fiddle, but he had to open his mouth. The people who believe in trump, that I have interacted with, think that low prices are part of the plan that will happen alongside the racism. I am expecting orange boy to say the secretary didn’t actually mean that.

It just indicates that Trump doesn’t care what they think any more. He’s no longer trying to please voters. They have done their job and where he’s taking the USA, there won’t be voters. Besides, he knows they’ll always be with him when it comes to hurting people they don’t like. Expensive eggs won’t change their bigotry.

But it will disenfranchise all the people who voted for him because “cheaper eggs”. Like I was saying, those people thought it was in the plan until the secretary put that out. People are currently suffering because of the cost of living, hearing that quote will be a direct slap in their face after selling their morals for cheaper goods. We still have yet to see the damage/damage control.

The media will successfully deflect blame away from Trump’s government. These people are eager to believe any story except that they’ve been hoodwinked.

Trump never said he would lower prices. Trump has always said higher prices are better. Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia.

We have neighbors that do the same. We’ve had to re-gift a few or redirect them to other neighbors, because we don’t eat very many eggs at all. It’s certainly a nice gesture, though.

Cost of tea had very little to do with the Boston Tea Party.

After taxes on the tea were applied it was still the cheapest tea had ever been in the colonies

Trump voters are some of the stupidest people alive. Just vibes voting that trump will somehow “end inflation” despite there being no evidence that any of his proposed policies would do so. Many of them will suffer as a result of his changes, but as they are unbelievably stupid people, I don’t think they will reject conservatism or capitalism. They’ll just be conned again.
